Week One

Gather information for Dry Cow consultation.

Cows BCS 3.5 – 4.0 should be dried off now.

Dry off cows with:

-high SCC cows
-producing less than 5 litres a day

Week Two

Pre dry-off cow drench.

At risk heifers to get a sensitiser vaccination for Salmonella.

Week Three

Dry Cow consultation with vet. Have MINDA information, herd test results and herd treatment book information collated before Dry Cow consult.

Week Four

Carry out trace element tests in calves and in calf heifers and supplement as necessary.
