Large Animals

Our large animal veterinarians and support crew are dedicated to helping farmers maximise the profitability of their on- farm endeavours. Our clinics have a strong dairy focus, reflecting the growth within the region. We have a great crew of vets ready to examine your sick animals and carry out routine jobs, as well as trained Incalf, Healthy Hoof, Mastitis Investigation, and Nutritional advisors. With the new Infovet computer system we can offer aged pregnancy testing on dairy cows, as well as detailed analysis of reproductive performance, mastitis, and production.

While there has been a move towards dairy within the region, we still preserve a strong emphasis on sheep, beef, and deer farming. Within the practice there is a huge knowledge base, and our vets are always keen to assist farmers with their animal health plans and advice. We also offer some more specialised services, such as deer pregnancy testing, CIDR programmes, Johnes management, as well as being involved in clinical trials.

We are always happy to see all large animals, from horses, pigs, goats, and alpacas, right through to wallabies and penguins!
