Monitor calves for pinkeye, consider vaccination with ‘Pilliguard’ vaccine.
Discuss milk herd testing results with vet if perceived problem.
For chronic cases of mastitis get cultures done.

A reduction in feed quality / quantity at this time will have negative effects on conception rates.
Week Two
Vet check non-cycling cows after first 3 weeks of AI.
Monitor for bloat.
Target submission rate >95% for 3 weeks.

Week Three
Bulls out – follow up bull after AI.
Reapply tailpaint.
Start assessing non-return rate.
Maintain heat detection as a priority in the shed during the second 3 weeks of mating. Do not let the ‘standards slip’.
Week Four
Reapply tailpaint.
If considering starting natural mating now, calculate if enough replacements have been left.
